SUMMARY:Teaching Meditation for Mental Wellbeing
DESCRIPTION:*** FULLY BOOKED *** \n“Everyone has mental health. Together\, we can help each other look after it” \nI am delighted to offer a 20 Hour training in Teaching Meditation for Mental Wellbeing at the Inna Bliss Yoga Camp Hill Studio. \nThis training is open to teachers\, practitioners and facilitators from all areas who want to be able to offer accessible and beneficial practices to their students and clients and offer them practical tools and strategies for recovery and healing\, whether they are wishing to maintain good mental health and stress-management or dealing with anxiety\, depression or trauma. \nAn invitation is also warmly extended to those looking to discover tools and techniques to support themselves or family members personally. \nMental health is everyone’s business and has proved itself to be a chief concern in our recent times. Everyone needs to look after their mental health. Each of us has a drive to remain whole and in a thriving relationship with life\, even given its turbulent and unpredictable nature. \nAustralia’s Health 2020 Report shows that one in five Australians has a mental health condition\, highlighting the importance of education and training for those who are in a prime position to offer skilful support: from school\, college\, yoga\, meditation and fitness teachers to doctors and therapists in both mainstream and alternative healing modalities. \nIn addition\, statistics show that 79.4% of Australian yoga students and teachers come to their practice to reduce levels of stress and anxiety and for other reasons related to their mental health. This translates to over ¾ of a class practicing yoga and meditation for mental health reasons. \nMeditation has a central place in supporting mental wellness in all our self-care practices. \nThose of us in the wellness space can recognise our presence as part of such support and how effective our teaching can be in holding a light for continued recovery. \nThe Innate Meditation approach you will learn in this course is holistic\, body-centred\, heart-centred\, senseful\, soulful and mindful and is sensitive to the substantial majority of those coming to meditation\, who are seeking practices which can hold space for their healing and support them with anxiety\, trauma and other forms of mental distress.\n___\nThe curriculum of this weekend course will offer: An Exploration of Mental Wellbeing In the 21st Century \n\nWhat are common stressors today?\nWhy do people come to meditation for their mental health?\nHow can meditation help our mental health and wellbeing?\nWhat obstacles do people encounter when it comes to practicing meditation?\nScience\nOur sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems: the psychology and neuroscience of stress and repair and how effective meditation works with both states and begins with an attitude of welcoming our energies\nUnderstanding our threat response and how it can manifest in our feelings and behaviour (Fight\, Flight\, Freeze\, Fawn\, Flood\, Flop) and how we can use meditation techniques to intervene and work with these responses\nUnderstanding the stress-relaxation response\nUnderstanding our Window of Tolerance and how it may affect our capacity to learn and practice\nUnderstanding how our brain has a bias towards negativity and the power of meditation to redress the balance\nUnderstanding trauma and recognising it in ourselves and our students and clients\, using somatic approaches to help students who are experiencing symptoms of acute anxiety and/or PTSD\nThe clinically-proven power of self-compassion in reducing anxiety and creating safety for the healing of trauma\nThe value of guiding our students into deep awareness of their resourced states and teaching them to use these as meditation gateways and in general life\nRecognising the value of helping our students and clients understand the science of stress and how to increase their somatic awareness as a gateway to shifting habits – for example of shame\, negative self- talk\, perfectionism and feeling unworthy\n\nTeaching Approach\, Tools and Techniques \nIn this training you will learn to practice and teach meditation which \n\nCreates safety and welcome\nIs embodied and somatic rather than focussing predominantly on mental activity\, but does not require mind-clearing\, blocking or clinical witnessing\nRecognises and responds to what we know about neuroscience\, psychology and the biology of stress\nIs trauma-aware and pays particular attention to building skills of sensitive language and compassionate cueing\nUses invitational language and the language of permission\, rather than issuing commands or rigid sets of rules and requirements\, and allows for individual adaptation\nOffers a range of tools and techniques for different needs\, which can be easily accessed by the student and used as “take home practices” to support their personal therapeutic journey\n\nThe Training includes \n\n3 full days of face to face teaching with Alison Potts\nA comprehensive training manual\nOnline follow-up group call via Zoom following the training\nAccess to a private Facebook group for discussions\, sharing resources and keeping in touch after the training\nA Certificate of Completion of 20 Hours Education in Teaching Meditation for Mental Wellbeing from Innate Being and Inna Bliss Yoga\nYoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider approved 20 hours of attendance\n\nInvestment: $590 (Early bird $549 until end April) \nCamp Hill Studio 21 – 23 May \nSession Times \nFriday 11am – 5.30pm\nSaturday 10am – 5.30pm\nSunday 9.30am – 3pm \n\n\n	Related
